Michael Amici

Executive Director

Sometimes, everything just comes together. That’s the case for Michael, who spent a great deal of time with his maternal grandparents and has fond memories of joining them Friday nights for favorite television shows and ice cream. “I’ve been told I have an ‘old soul’ and working with seniors just came naturally,” he says.

The synchronicity doesn't end there. Michael’s original career path was counseling, and now as Executor Director of Trulee Evanston, he considers it an honor to work with residents, family members, and team members. “What I most enjoy is providing counseling to an individual to help them work through issues they may be experiencing,” says Michael. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Western Illinois University and has worked in senior living for 20 years as well as in the field of mental health.

Creativity is the core value that most inspires him. “Creativity is what drew me to Solera Senior Living; I feel empowered to lead my team to embrace innovation and technology in senior living.”

Since joining Trulee, Michael has been working on developing a green thumb, and invites everyone to stop by his office to see “my three thriving plants.” He’s also a fan of camping and an RV enthusiast. He hopes one day to own a Class A Winnebago motorhome and go exploring. First stop: Mount Rushmore. He also enjoys to unwind by assembling expert-level of Lego sets.

And don't forget Mardi, Felix, and Nestle, his three beloved Dachshunds.
